Safe Ride Home

Safe Ride Home Campaign at BBQ on the River Festival

At McCracken County ASAP (Agency for Substance Abuse Policy), our mission is to protect our community by promoting safe, responsible choices, especially when it comes to alcohol consumption. This year, we're proud to partner with Beautiful Paducah to bring back the Safe Ride Home campaign for the 2024 BBQ on the River Festival.

What We're Doing:

During the festival, we will be distributing bright lime-green koozie sleeves, banners, business cards, and flyers featuring a QR code. This code provides attendees with instant access to resources that can help them arrange a safe ride home. Whether it's calling a local cab, accessing the Lyft app, or finding the free trolley map, we've made it easier than ever for festival-goers to make the responsible choice.

Why It Matters:

The statistics around impaired driving are alarming. With the potential for severe injuries, fatalities, and life-altering consequences, we are committed to doing everything we can to prevent alcohol-related crashes in our community. By making safe transportation options highly visible and easily accessible, we aim to reduce the risk of impaired driving at this year’s event.

How You Can Help:

BBQ vendors are also participating by displaying these resources at their booths. We encourage all attendees to take advantage of these services and help spread the word. Together, we can make this festival not only fun but also safe for everyone.
